German Sting Operation ambushes the Reichsbuerger Citizens

I knew it was a sting operation as soon as I saw sensationalized media headlines claiming that a German Reich coup plot had been foiled and an arms cache discovered.

One hardly needed to be Sherlock Holmes to realize the roundup of Germany’s Reichsbuerger Citizens was police entrapment. If so, it suggests that the only lawbreakers in the conspiracy were the police themselves. But in Germany, the state police are the untouchables and their tactics are unchallenged.

The media term ‘police’ has little bearing on reality. The Federal Criminal Police Office leading the investigation is Germany’s central criminal investigation agency (CIA). It coordinates federal and state cooperation in police investigations.

Founded in 1951, the purpose of the Bundeskriminalant is to collate, investigate and prevent threats to the state. When on October 3, 1990, occurred the reunification of Germany, East Germany’s notorious STASI (secret police) were seamlessly absorbed into the Bundeskriminalant.

As in Soviet-occupied Germany, the Bundeskriminalant is given absolute authority to take whatever measures they think necessary to eliminate any threat to the government.

Everything about the media-hyped ‘German Reich coup plot’ reminded me of the fantasy tales of the fabled German aristocrat Baron Münchhausen.

I was hardly alone: An MP from the conservative Alternative for Germany party, Eugen Schmidt, called into question the authorities’ claims that the group had been plotting a coup to overthrow the German government. The MP says that the powers-that-be in Berlin arranged the arrest of dozens of people on Wednesday merely to divert German attention from an acute energy crisis.

Germany is one nation of 27 states making up the European Union bloc. The mere suggestion that a comic opera coup in any EU state could be successful is absurd.

Then there is the story’s sub-headline: ‘police raid a hunting lodge used as a weapons depot and a meeting place.’ It goes on to state that 40 weapons were discovered: well, what would expect at a hunting lodge?

At this point, we really are going into a Johann Strauss operatic farce. What next? The Dummies Guide to overthrowing the German Government?

There has to be a Russian take on the story; it is further disclosed that several Russian citizens were arrested. It is then darkly revealed that the alleged head of Reichsbuerger Citizens once visited the Russian embassy.

Media coverage of the sting is typically theatrical: ‘The number of far-right extremists who deny the legitimacy of modern-day Germany has reached 23,000, claims Interior Minister Nancy Faeser after calling for a comprehensive crackdown on the Reichsbuerger Citizens of the Reich movement.

She goes on to claim that the perfectly legitimate association has added 2,000 members over the past year. Members of the Reichsbuergers claim Germany is an occupied country. There is nothing new in this: When in 2009 former US president Barak Obama visited Ramstein US Army base he told the gathered troops: ‘Germany is an occupied country and will remain so.’

Likewise, the Reichsbuerger Citizens reject the country’s legitimacy, its government and its post-war defined borders.

On May 8, 1945, the German state was deprived of its constitution and elected members of the government were arrested. Germany since is a de facto illegitimate state as fake as a two-dollar bill. The crime of the Reichsbuerger Citizens is to point this out.

In essence, the Reichsbuergers are the small boy pointing out that the emperor is naked. However, in Washington Occupied Germany it is a revolutionary act to claim that 2 + 2 is four.

Media coverage of the roundup of the Reichsbuerger reminded me of the story of Beate Zschäpe. A non-violent young idealist she became involved with the National Socialist Underground movement.

In 2013, after over 300 trial dates were set, Zschäpe was sentenced to life imprisonment despite the fact that she had not proved to be present or in any way involved or knowing of any terror attack in which people died.

Beate and many other idealists like her were ensnared by a police sting operation. At her trial, fifty witnesses turned out to be Bundeskriminalant agents. In fact, the state police were involved in the creation and the day-to-day management of the National Socialist Underground (NSU).

The NSU like many similar was government-created for the purpose of entrapment of citizens who might be inclined to actively oppose the state. It is common police practice. Regrettably, Beate Zschäpe was just one of the hundreds lured into an ambush by state operatives.

In Beata’s case, the NSU organization and the incidents of terror were inspired and created by the state itself. It is a strategy as old as that of conflict. This subversive tactic by state operatives sets a trap for the naïve.

Bundeskriminalant operatives are made up of soulless apparatchiks devoid of any sense of right or wrong. Ruthless? I myself lost a very dear German friend in the late 1970s.

Axel, an activist in a German right-wing movement was particularly unlucky. Taking a car ride to attend a meeting of young right-wing activists the car he was travelling in was ambushed by a police squad.

Pulled roughly from the car, Axel was forced to lie face down on the road. My friend’s body jerked several times as he was shot ‘trying to escape.’ That would have been the end of the matter; the case closed.

In Germany today languish hundreds of prisoners who were either entrapped by state operatives or who otherwise challenged the prevailing orthodoxy. Will you walk into my parlour said the spider to the fly: It appears Germany’s prisons prepare to welcome a batch of new Reichsbuerger Citizens.

“Germany is now a total dictatorship; they preach democracy and freedom and do the opposite” says international journalist Sonja van den Ende.
