Legislators, Ban Toxic Fluoride and Save Our Children

REVIEWING SAFETY FOR OUR CHILDREN!

Finally, we are seeing class action lawsuits against manufacturers that have been knowingly and deceptively marketing toxic toothpaste and mouthwash for our children!

We have heard time and time again that fluoride is “safe and effective”.   

But it’s not safe. And it’s not effective.

And fluoride cannot be boiled out of the water like chlorine. Boiling only concentrates the fluoride! If your food has been cooked in fluoridated water, the chemical fluoride has been concentrated and absorbed into that food. If a person eats out a lot, they’re probably ingesting HARMFUL LEVELS of toxic fluoride.

Fluoride placed in any substance makes it deadly — water, toothpaste, mouthwash, juices, sodas, sports drinks — this includes canned food and baked items by default – and anything that would contain fluoridated water. 

Children under age six should never use fluoride toothpaste or mouthwash, and for children over the age of six, the toothpaste box says to call the poison control center if they are using over 1/4 milligram (one pea-sized glob of fluoride toothpaste)! So, with toothpaste and mouthwash, it’s hard to tell how much of this toxic chemical has been swallowed and ingested.

That is the same amount of fluoride in one glass of water… yet, water does not come with a warning label. And making baby formula with fluoridated tap water is a definite no-no!!

Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or call the Poison Control Center right away.

According to the Journal of Dental Research (Whitford 1987, 1990), there is enough fluoride in a tube of children’s fluoride toothpaste to kill an average-weighing child under the age of 9. Why else would the FDA require the following warning label on fluoride toothpaste?

And did you know:

**The fluoride concentration in Colgate for Kids toothpaste is 1,100 ppm.
At 130 grams of paste in the average tube, this equals 143 milligrams of fluoride.

How many years have these corporations known about the risks of fluoride to our sweet children? Did they know about problems with IQ loss and dental fluorosis? Yes, they knew. And what about the other serious health concerns that could come from the overdose of this toxic chemical? Even at lower levels, neurotoxicity risk still remains. 

Again, hazardous fluoride is added to more than just toothpaste and mouthwash. Shown below is a picture of a 50 pound bag of sodium fluorosilicate.

Are you aware that this is what’s added to the public drinking water supply?

Take note of the skull-and-crossbones and the red DANGER notice on the front:

That’s because this is a WARNING that it’s a highly TOXIC chemical.

This is not the “naturally occurring” fluoride that many water fluoridation proponents mention in their articles and conversations…  

This is a product of the phosphate fertilizer industry!

Let’s watch out for the fluoridation bait-and-switch rhetoric: they often start out discussing “naturally occurring” fluoride and then slide into discussing what’s added to our public water, as if they’re the same thing. They are NOT.  

Something else to consider:

Dr. J. William Hirzy, EPA scientist, said:

• If Fluoride gets out into the air, it’s a pollutant

• If Fluoride gets into the river, it’s a pollutant

• If Fluoride gets into the lake, it’s a pollutant

• But, If Fluoride goes straight into your drinking water system, it’s not a pollutant! Isn’t this amazing?

Here’s the latest! Breaking: 6 Lawsuits Filed Today Accuse Makers of Children’s Fluoride Toothpaste of Violating Federal Law  

We borrowed some extra valuable snippets from their article this time:

Six class action lawsuits filed today accuse major dental product manufacturers of deceptively marketing products containing fluoride to young children and misleading parents to believe the products are safe for toddlers.

The lawsuits name children’s toothpaste brands Crest and Colgate/Tom’s of Maine, and the children’s mouth rinse brands Act, Colgate/Tom’s of Maine, Firefly and Hello.

According to the lawsuits, the brands’ deceptive marketing tactics put “the health of millions of children at risk” and violated the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and several state consumer fraud statutes. The complaints highlight the serious risks to children’s health from ingesting excess fluoride. These include flu-like symptoms from acute toxicity, dental fluorosis, neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption and even death.

Connett successfully represented plaintiffs in the landmark lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over water fluoridation. In that case, a federal judge ruled in September 2024 that water fluoridation at current U.S. levels poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children and ordered the EPA to take regulatory action.

Kathleen Thiessen, Ph.D., who authored the 2006 National Research Council report on fluoride in drinking water, told The Defender the dangers of fluoride go beyond immediate toxicity and include “neurotoxicity concerns, endocrine disruption, increased risk of bone fracture.”

Court Ruling: Fluoride Levels Pose Risk to Children’s IQ   

Senior Judge Edward Chen wrote:

“The Court finds that fluoridation of water at 0.7 milligrams per liter (“mg/L”) – the level presently considered “optimal” in the United States – poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children…the Court finds there is an unreasonable risk of such injury, a risk sufficient to require the EPA to engage with a regulatory response.”

“In all, there is substantial and scientifically credible evidence establishing that fluoride poses a risk to human health; it is associated with a reduction in the IQ of children and is hazardous at dosages that are far too close to fluoride levels in the drinking water of the United States…Reduced IQ poses serious harm. Studies have linked IQ decrements of even one or two points to, e.g., reduced educational attainment, employment status, productivity, and earned wages.”

“One thing the EPA cannot do, however, in the face of this Court’s finding, is to ignore that risk.”

Philippe Grandjean, M.D., Ph.D., adjunct professor in environmental health at Harvard and chair of environmental medicine at the University of Southern Denmark, top researcher on fluoride’s neurotoxicity and expert witness for plaintiffs in the case told The Defender he thought the court’s decision was “well-justified.”

He said the ruling made it incumbent on the EPA to go beyond simply ending water fluoridation.

Here’s the intro:

Note these words from the Abstract above: “cognitive deficits in children with elevated fluoride exposures” — “early-life exposures were negatively associated with children’s performance on cognitive tests” — “Fluoride poisoning” — “Neurotoxic disorder”…

Moreover, fluoride is cumulative in the body:  it is increasing or increased in quantity, degree, or force by successive additions.

For the sake of our children and grandchildren, especially their present and future wellbeing — physically, mentally, and emotionally, it is crucial that we ban water fluoridation and prioritize health over outdated, and now proven harmful, practices.

Thankfully, we are now seeing more and more jurisdictions ending water fluoridation in the United States.

Also, here is a list of nations that became aware of the danger and stopped fluoridating their water. Notice the start and stop dates:

• Federal Republic of Germany (1952–1971)

• Sweden (1952–1971)

• Netherlands (1953–1976)

• Czechoslovakia (1955–1990)

• German Democratic Republic (1959–1990)

• Soviet Union (1960–1990)

• Finland (1959–1993)

• Japan (1952–1972)

• Israel (1981–2014, 2016–) *Mandatory by law since 2002. Israel stopped fluoridating its drinking water in August 2014. This was after legislation in 2002 made fluoridation mandatory for localities with more than 5,000 residents.

It’s America’s turn. Let’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA)!

Side note: In 2006, a National Research Council report concluded that fluoride is likely to affect the pineal gland function and cause decreased melatonin production, which could contribute to a variety of effects in humans. (Melatonin is a hormone that regulates our sleep cycle and has other health benefits. Sleep and proper rest is important to our health, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well.)

In closing, fluoride is a neurotoxin linked to lower IQ, thyroid disorders, and bone cancer.

Our health decisions should be based on truth, not propaganda.

Our children are our future. What are we to say to them if they ask, “Why didn’t you protect us if you knew about the dangers and risks of water fluoridation and had the opportunity to do something??”
