The Morrow Is Promised To No One…

Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? (Job 7:1)

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. (Prov 27:1)

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (Jas 4:14)

Ps 39:4-5:

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. (Ps 39:4)
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. (Ps 39:5)

The song below speaks to me of the strait gate and narrow way that Jesus commanded all of us to go through; walking it to the end, in order to be born again, born from above.

Matt 7:13-14:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (Matt 7:13)

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt 7:14)

The Bible is full of so many mysteries, and yet if one searches them out, there are answers…Matthew 7:14 says this narrow way leads to LIFE. But if I am already alive, how can that be?

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (John 12:24)

Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: (1Cor 15:36)

So in order for one to be born again, we are required to die first, albeit a spiritual death. It means dying to this world and everything in it as well. It is the only way Jesus gave us, or we will never see heaven.

John 3:3-7:

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? (John 3:4)
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6)
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)

So many mysteries indeed. I have been searching for my Lord and Saviour for a third of my life now.

It’s hard to believe that that much time has gone by since God the Father called me out of this world and started drawing me to Christ Jesus, but it’s true.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

I and my Father are one. (John 10:30)

The Holy Bible is crystal clear, and very exclusive, about how we find our way into heaven.

What’s even more mysterious is the matter of timing. God’s word says this rebirth experience is something that will happen when God decides, not by the will of man.

John 1:12-13:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1John 3:1)

I know God has a plan for all those who will do what He says. We must trust in the word of God, and I am positive that what the Lord has shown me so far is the truth, and so I wait until the appointed time…

If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. (Job 14:14)

…one day at a time…

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Ps 27:14)

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (1Pet 1:7)
